Graphic works for a unique Montréal boutique... "La Gallery"!

In the first months of 2010 I had the pleasure of producing some illustrations and a store-front sign for a new, rather unique place here in Montréal called "La Gallery". The concept is this place sells and exhibits only original comic book art panels! They also showcase modern/street-inspired art from local artists too, including a few of my paintings. I created the flyer for their opening, and below you can also see the store-front sign which was a stencil job. It had been a long time since I had drawn "comic/manga inspired" characters! GREENWOOD Album Cover!! Album in Stores Now!

I had the great opportunity in late 2009 to create the album cover for my friend Joé Boisvert`s band GREENWOOD. These guys are soooo into the 70`s funk era style that Tie-Dye was a must... The cover art was mostly all digital work. This blues/funk band is led on guitars by brothers Joé & Kim, who are just mindblowing, and the whole band kills it. The album is out in stores now, and they will be playing from NYC to Toronto in the coming weeks, getting some good press too! Visit the band`s website http://www.greenwoodband.ca/ to hear them out!

Adobe Illustrator Vector fun!

I was toying around with Illustrator and made these two illustrations; one is a flyer for a fictionnal Vancouver Sushi Bar, and the other is for a Shoe ad : ) I like the fun and colorful ads better, but simplicity finds itself in monotone often, and I`ve always into large spattering brush strokes - it`s just fun to go recreate those in Illustrator!

I have been sewing again, and thinking of pushing some concepts into actual prototypes. I was just inspired by that intent and this piece was created in just a few hours (after just sitting there staring at my dress form). I don`t have a name yet, but it seems to be partially related to aspirations, desire of creating, so I`ll think of a fitting title. It`s still kinda abstract, basic, meaningless - very much more of an illustration than a painting.

Finally new stuff : ) My latest piece is a painting I did for my good buddy Scott; it was always soooo much fun to ride and surf together, and so he wanted some art related to mountains and the sea for his place. The piece is about 50" tall by 24" wide, acrylic on canvas.

Hello hello! I am starting to build a more design-oriented portfolio, and so I`ve begun doing more in photoshop and illustrator. I am still learning, however I try to come up with advertising-style images. Here are 2 graphics I did early this past week.

They both reflect my love of splattering and bold brush strokes, and the color palette I`m really into right now. They both represent fictionnal things - sorry boys & girls there`s no upcoming Mont Sutton contest (not that I know of) or "the villains" is not a band as far as I know : )

Well before the weekend I finally brought up corrections to complete my latest painting!!! Based on your feedback : ) thank you! I`m done and happy with it, I realized a few things about how I work and I will be experimenting again. However this piece is bright, big and juicy.

Hey! I thought I finished that piece yesterday... but not sure anymore. I`m not sure if I should keep the buble with the bird skeleton on the upper left. I`m thinking I should paint-in the white area of the crab`s mouth too.... I`m definetly seeking for people`s opinion on this, please tell me what you think!
